COVID STATEMENT

At Shepherd Home, we believe we have a responsibility to help reduce the spread of COVID-19. We are committed to keeping our residents, families, volunteers, community members and staff safe. For this reason, we are constantly reviewing the current CDC, State of New York and Monroe County guidelines to inform our response. We will assess the recommendations on an ongoing basis and make the best decisions we can with the information provided in an effort to maintain the health and safety of all who enter our home.

Effective September 22nd, Shepherd Home will require all visitors (ages 12 and older) to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination. Additionally, visitors will be required to complete a symptom screening, temperature check and wear a facemask to enter the home.

Our usual open-door hospitality has also been impacted by COVID-19, and visitor limitations are currently in place. As part of our intake process, each resident will develop an approved visitor list. Only pre-approved visitors will be able to enter the home. We also encourage the use of virtual visits as a way to stay connected. For all questions regarding our visitation policy please contact our Executive Director, Jennifer Modzel.

Thank You for your understanding and for doing your part to protect everyone at Shepherd Home! We are grateful to our generous community of individuals, families, businesses and organizations that support our mission and make it possible for Shepherd Home to provide end of life care to our community members.”
